Client Rights & Responsibilities

Your rights as a person served by ACC, and the responsibilities that help care work.

Every person served by Andrews Counseling and Consulting, PLLC has rights that our team protects, and responsibilities that help care work. These apply to clients and, where appropriate, to parents, guardians, and legally responsible persons.

Your Rights

  • To be treated with dignity, respect, and consideration at all times.
  • To privacy and confidentiality of your information, consistent with law and our Notice of Privacy Practices.
  • To receive clear information about services, fees, and what to expect before care begins.
  • To participate in developing your treatment plan, and to have your goals and preferences shape your care.
  • To give informed consent before services begin, and to ask questions until you understand.
  • To refuse or discontinue services, within applicable law and program requirements, and to be told of any likely consequences of that choice.
  • To receive services free from discrimination, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and retaliation.
  • To voice a concern or file a grievance, internally or externally, without fear of retaliation, and to receive a timely response.
  • To request access to your records, consistent with law.
  • To have family, guardians, and care-team members involved in your care when appropriate and authorized.

Your Responsibilities

  • To provide accurate and complete information about your history, needs, insurance, and contact details.
  • To participate in scheduled services and let us know in advance when you cannot attend.
  • To tell us about changes that affect your care: contact information, insurance, custody or guardianship, safety concerns, or medications.
  • To treat staff, other clients, and visitors with respect.
  • To meet financial obligations you have agreed to, and to ask us early if payment is a hardship.
