Billing Notices

Important information about your billing rights, including Good Faith Estimates and surprise billing protections.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

If you don't have insurance or choose not to use insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of non-emergency services, including therapy sessions and related services.
  • ACC will provide a Good Faith Estimate in writing before your scheduled service, and you can also ask for one before you schedule.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call ACC at (888) 711-8772.

Protections Against Surprise Billing

Federal law protects clients from certain unexpected medical bills, including balance billing in specific out-of-network situations. When you receive services from ACC, we will tell you clearly whether we participate with your insurance plan before services begin, and benefits and authorization are verified as part of intake. If you believe you have been billed incorrectly, contact us at (888) 711-8772. You may also visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises for information about your federal protections.
