Travis S. Andrews, Ph.D.
Dr. Travis S. Andrews is a co-owner at Andrews Counseling and Consulting, PLLC, and a Counselor Educator in a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Program. Dr. Andrews' educational background includes degrees in Sociology, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Rehabilitation Counseling and Counselor Education. In addition, Dr. Andrews has over ten years of experience as a clinical mental health and rehabilitation counselor. Dr. Andrews is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) in Kentucky, and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) in North Carolina. Dr. Andrews' research interests include the underrepresentation of African American males in counselor education programs, employment outcomes for people with psychiatric disabilities, school to work transition services for youth with learning disorders, post-secondary transition services for youth with psychiatric disabilities, and culturally responsive practice in rehabilitation and mental health counseling.
Anthony D. Andrews, Ph.D.
Dr. Anthony Andrews is co-owner of Andrews Counseling and Consulting, PLLC. Dr. Andrews also works as a professor of Rehabilitation Counseling in a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Program. Dr. Anthony Andrews’ research interests include rehabilitation education related to the mass incarceration and recidivism of African American Males. He also has research interests in trauma-informed care, mentorship, and disability. His educational background includes degrees in Sociology (B.A.), Rehabilitation Counseling (M.S.), and Rehabilitation Counseling and Counselor Education (Ph.D.). Dr. Andrews has over 7 years of experience as a clinical rehabilitation counselor. He is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist- Supervisor, Board Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider (BC-TMH), and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor- Supervisor (LCMHC-S) in North & South Carolina and in the District of Columbia.
Shaun D. Andrews, MPA
Shaun Andrews has been a mental health advocate, educator, researcher, and community activist for minority children and young adults for over 15 years. His research focus has been on increasing success rates among students from rural and urban communities by utilizing mentoring and culturally relevant teaching strategies. He also has a decade of corporate management experience for Fortune 100 companies. Upon graduation from Winston Salem State University, Shaun pursued a Master of Public Administration degree from North Carolina Central University with a focus on community development. While pursuing a Masters in Public Administration, he led the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Saturday Academy and Academic Summer Accelerated Program on the campus of North Carolina Central University.
Martin P. Faison, CRC
Martin Faison is the Behavioral Interventionist at Andrews Counseling and Consulting, PLLC. As a licensed special education teacher and CRC, Mr. Faison has over a decade of experience working with individuals with disabilities. This experience includes, but is not limited to, hands-on experience combating target behaviors and composing Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students with disabilities. In addition to his work as an educator, Mr. Faison has worked as a direct care professional and a qualified professional with various private organizations.
Sharon Simmons, LCAS-A
Sharon Simmons is a Clinical Administrative Assistant at Andrews Counseling and Consulting, PLLC. She is currently in pursuit of her Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors Licensure and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Licensure. Sharon received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Addictions and Recovery and a Minor in Religion Evangelism, December 2017 and her Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling, May 2020. She has two years of experience working with clients that presents challenges with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, loss, adjustment/life transitions, emotional needs, relational issues, and sexuality. Sharon is driven by her passion and purpose to serve and give back to the community. She has the lived experience of addiction, and over 20 years of sobriety which includes recovery, relapse and abstinence. Her passion is helping to empower children, adults, and families as they build on their strengths, achieve their goals and strengthen family relationships.
Brittany Brown, TCM
Brittany Brown is a certified Targeted Case Manager (TCM) and Office Manager at Andrews Counseling and Consulting, PLLC. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has over seven years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in recreational, medical, and human resource settings. Additionally, she also has experience working with various populations at Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF). During her time working at a PRTF, she recognized a void in her community and its essential resources, which led her to pursue a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Winston-Salem State University. She will complete this program in the fall of 2023.
Imani Alexander, LCMHC-A
Imani Alexander is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and Certified K-12 School Counselor with Andrews Counseling and Consulting PLLC. She has a sincere desire to help couples and individuals navigate life’s unpredictable challenges. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a focus in Family and Marriage from Hampton University and a Master of Science dual degree in both Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from the CACREP accredited Johns Hopkins University. Imani continued her counseling work post graduation by working as a counselor in the schools. There she has integrated a multi-modal approach with students and their families including play therapy, art therapy, family therapy modalities, cognitive behavioral therapy, and systematic desensitization. Imani also has a background in fitness and nutrition. She has competed on the bodybuilding stage and worked with individuals to promote balanced wellness. With this experience, she also has grown the desire and skills to help individuals navigating through various eating disorders on their path to recovery and healing. Imani’s goal in counseling is to provide the individual and couple the environment and tools needed to grow through adversity and into a healthier daily life.
